Published freelance writing

A freelance writer has his or her job cut out: writing interesting, well-researched, error-free copy, dot on the deadline.

I have done my share of that, and here are a few samples from a few topics that I have had the opportunity to write on.

This is by no means an exhaustive list. Web content, brochures and newsletters are also part of my writing curriculum.

(A lot of it is on fashion, because I was trained in the trade, but I sometimes take up more cut-and-dried subjects like domaining and mind-mapping as well.)

———————————-

On Fashion: I love writing these articles, they let me talk about something I really, really know about.

Fashion trends: I do a few of these each season, keeps me up-to-date as well.

Italian fashion: Italians not only follow fashion, they are renowned for creating it. This article is an introduction to the Italian world of fashion.

Gianni and Donatella Versace: Donatella Versace has taken over the reins of the fashion house founded by her brother, Gianni Versace. This article traces the history of the House of Versace.

Skirt History: About the evolution of one of the earliest garments known to man.

Skirt types: Describing all the types of skirts available to a woman can be an exhausting process, as I discovered while writing this article!

Skirt advice: This article is all about how to choose a skirt style as per your figure: makes shopping that much easier.

Ladies winter coats: I have always found winter coats very fascinating, how they cover up so much and are still so sexy. Fascinating.

Pearl jewelry: Classic jewelry is a pet subject, and pearls are about as classic as you can get.

History of the Bra: The name describes the article, it is all about how the modern bra evolved into the avatars we see today.

Men’s suits, Brioni: Menswear is a current project, but these were written when I was oh-so-stuck with the idea of men’s suits and how they are made.

Italian Designer Handbags: The first of an entire series on designer handbags from Italy.

On Beauty: These articles are very rewarding, as researching for them sometimes brings up unexpected truths!

Beauty Advice: Sometimes, when it comes to beauty, common sense makes the most sense.

Big can be beautiful: An article dedicated to those women of our times who are generously endowed, that tells us why they are beautiful.

Various: I write on a wide variety of topics because not only does it makes my job less boring, I also find I can make a real contribution.

Wines and weddings

Cocktail secrets

Home Decor

Careers in Insurance

  1. I started work training for dress designing. That was in 1949! I ended up as a freelance designer of dresses, lingerie and housecoats. But then I turned to teaching. Now I have no interest in fashion. It goes in cycles and there is nothing really new.
You sure do have a lot of connections. I truly admire your endeavours.

  2. Thanks Gladys, I now mainly write for one site: lifeinitaly.com

I used to work in the world of fashion for almost 10 years before giving it up. I now realize it tired me. I still am loosely connected to fashion, and that’s the way I like it.

Welcome to my blog and hope you visit often.

  3. Hi there! Someone in my Facebook group shared this site with us so I came to take a look. I’m definitely loving the information. I’m book-marking and will be tweeting this to my followers! Exceptional blog and excellent design.
