What I Saw in Siem Reap

Daily (W)rite has been silent the past week. I’ve been in Siem Reap, Cambodia, mostly offline– climbing temple steps, tinkering with my camera, sampling local cuisine, listening to myths and legends, generally taking part in the tourism circus.

Back to regular programming in a while. In the meanwhile, here are some of the images from my camera:Siem Reap Snapshots

  1. I was talking to my daughter just last night about her trip to Angkor Wat. It’s always amazing to see what people were able to create centuries ago, and without the help of our modern technology. I think we’ve lost much of that vision, and dedication to beauty. Thank you for sharing these images, D, and I hope you’re doing well.

  2. Beautiful images. You are lucky you were able to go there and see everything you did.

  3. Beautiful!

  4. Siem Reap has so much that it can not be described in a few photos. :)
    Nice effort.

  8. Damyanti:

A couple weeks back you had left a comment that you’d be glad to announce the release of Secondhand Shoes on your blog when it was ready. I’m creating a package of sorts for a blog party for February 19th to the 21st.

    Hugs and chocolate,

  9. Looks like a mystical and interesting place. I’ve yet to try any Cambodian food. I know there are some restaurants not far from where I live, but I don’t think I could convince my wife to try them.
